Arsenal is reportedly close to finalizing the signing of Declan Rice from West Ham before the team’s pre-season tour in the USA.
The Gunners are hopeful of securing the deal for a club-record fee of £105m, with an initial payment of £100m and £5m in add-ons.
If completed, the transfer would surpass Arsenal’s current record purchase of Nicolas Pepe from Lille for £72m in 2019.
While the fee falls just short of the British transfer record set by Chelsea’s acquisition of Enzo Fernandez from Benfica for £106.8m in January, it remains a significant milestone for Arsenal.
